Having worked long and hard to stage our most current demonstration against torture and our persistent activism for peace and justice, we take a moment to catch our breath… and then ponder…
Will this coming administration truly STOP TORTURE? In all its forms? In all the dark and secret places where it is practiced?
Will 2009 – or some other year – be the one in which WE stop torture and regain the moral authority to demand that others also stop?

We are very grateful for the poignant and humorous aspect that these wonderful and imaginative artists brought to the events.
Peacekeepers Needed
Even among pacifists, forewarned is forearmed! We are grateful that even in so highly charged an atmosphere with so many provocations and thus potential for verbal confrontation to escalate to violence, that, again, no such incident occurred. We thank those who offered their experience to those others of us who brought their enthusiasm and commitment to principles of non-violence. We thank them for their hand in guiding us peacefully through treacherous terrain.
